Starr and other panelists will discuss the new underwriting landscape in a session on Tuesday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Panelists joining him include:

  • Stephen Anderson, managing director at BMO Commercial Bank;
  • Strati Papageorge, senior vice president of product at PNC; and
  • Megan Prouty, assistant vice president of lending operations at PenFed Credit Union.

Arivo Acceptance’s loan application volume surged 10% to 15% higher than expected from Feb. 21 to March 10. Dealer group Ken Garff Automotive Group tapped the Sandy, Utah-based subprime lender to become the group’s captive arm in early 2026.

Starr, who was named CEO in 2024, has worked at Arivo Acceptance for more than seven years. He previously held leadership roles at TransUnion, American Express, Centrix Financial and Merrick Bank.

Auto Finance Summit East 2026 offers attendees a unique mix of networking and professional development opportunities and a chance to shore up strategies for the rest of the year. Sessions will dive into timely topics such as risk assessment, macroeconomic outlooks, vehicle valuations, subprime lending and lender-dealer collaboration.
