The data below is based on a phone survey of customer service representatives at the nation’s top 200 auto financiers. The reps were asked whether their companies offer loans to consumers with credit scores lower than 650, which are typically considered “nonprime,” and loans to consumers with credit scores lower than 550, which are typically dubbed “subprime.”
