JPMorgan Chase vet McClure joins Capital One as financial services division counsel

Capital One in June named Sean McClure its managing vice president and chief counsel for the financial services division. [caption id="attachment_58362120" align="alignright" width="152"] Sean McClure[/caption] McClure joined Capital One after more than 10 years at JPMorgan Chase , where he held various general counsel roles and most recently was managing director and general counsel for strategic transactions, connected commerce and digital, according to LinkedIn . Capital One was the fifth-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025, according to the latest Big Wheels ranking data . Capital One’s auto originations in the first quarter climbed 20.9% year over year to $11.1 billion , while outstandings increased 10.4% YoY to $85.7 billion. Elliott named head of tech for Chase Auto JPMorgan Chase’s former head of payments, Bryce Elliott, took over as head of technology for Chase Auto in May, according to LinkedIn. [caption id="attachment_58362121" align="alignleft" width="147"] Bryce Elliott[/caption] He joined the bank in 2024 after seven years at Truist in technology and information roles. Chase Auto was the fourth-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025, according to Big Wheels. The bank’s auto originations in Q1 came in at $10.4 billion, down 2.8% YoY . Average auto loan and lease outstandings totaled $90.6 billion, up 5.2% YoY, according to the Q1 earnings supplement. TFS promotes several leaders Toyota Financial Services (TFS) announced several executive changes on May 27 amid promotions. According to a company release, the changes include: [caption id="attachment_58362122" align="alignright" width="126"] Tellis Bethel[/caption] Tellis Bethel , group vice president and chief financial officer of Toyota Motor Credit Corp. (TMCC) and Toyota Financial Services International Corp. (TFSIC), was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of TMCC and TFSIC. He will continue to serve as chief executive of Toyota Financial Savings Bank . TFS named Stacie Bambauer chief legal and compliance officer after serving as vice president and general counsel; Vice President of Risk Kris Pritchard was promoted to group VP of risk and indirect procurement shared services overseeing TMCC’s and Toyota Motor North America’s indirect procurement activities; and Ellen Farrell is moving to an executive advisory role at TFS after serving as group vice president and TFS chief legal, compliance and administrative officer and chief respect for people officer at TFS and TMNA. Toyota Financial Services was the largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025 with a portfolio of $103.4 billion, according to Big Wheels. PenFed Credit Union names new general counsel William Heyer was promoted to general counsel at PenFed Credit Union on May 21 and oversees legal risks, including corporate governance, litigation, compliance and contract negotiation, according to a company release. He replaced Scott Lind , who retired after 40 years working in legal counsel, including 12 at PenFed. PenFed was the 52nd-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025 with a portfolio of $3.5 billion, according to the latest Big Wheels ranking data . Former Citi managing director O’Neil joins Pagaya Pagaya Technologies named Terry O'Neil its chief commercial officer to lead partnership and growth functions and deepen product adoption with major U.S. consumer lenders, the company announced on May 21. [caption id="attachment_58362124" align="alignleft" width="167"] Terry O'Neil[/caption] O'Neil brings more than 20 years of strategic expertise in consumer financial services to Pagaya, having held roles in payments, partnerships and consumer strategy, according to a release. He most recently was managing director of embedded payments and strategic partnerships at Citi , where he focused on advancing the bank’s payments capabilities. Pagaya’s annualized auto run rate rose 109.1% YoY in Q1 to $2.3 billion as the fintech leans into auto lending and investment . Arra Finance names chief growth officer Subprime auto lender Arra Finance in June named Bill Nemecek its chief growth officer, according to LinkedIn. [caption id="attachment_58362125" align="alignleft" width="98"] Bill Nemecek[/caption] Nemecek has more than 25 years of experience in automotive finance, technology and financial services and had held leadership roles at Amazon , Capital One and most recently auto finance company Lengenuity , according to Arra’s post. Edge Financial Services names Vester market manager Robin Vester , who has held leadership roles at several automotive finance companies, joined Metairie, La.-based nonprime auto financier Edge Financial Services in June as market manager, according to LinkedIn. [caption id="attachment_58362126" align="alignright" width="192"] Robin Vester[/caption] Edge Financial purchases retail installment contracts from dealerships, specializing in consumers with limited credit files. In his role with 1803 Capital , which does business at Edge Financial Services, Vester will sign up independent auto dealers with the financier, according to LinkedIn. Prior to joining Edge, he held roles at Lendbuzz , FlexPath and Global Lending Services . Vester’s appointment follows the naming of Doug Marohn as CEO in March . Point Predictive names new chief fraud strategist Matt Vega has been named chief fraud strategist at Point Predictive , company co-founder Frank McKenna said in a June 6 LinkedIn post. McKenna has been chief fraud strategist since 2013. [caption id="attachment_58362127" align="alignleft" width="166"] Matt Vega[/caption] Vega joined Point Predictive after four years in fraud strategy roles at Sardine AI and its online business banking platform Novo , according to LinkedIn. He joins as McKenna seeks to “bring in new leaders, technologists and fraud-fighting veterans from across the industry to push past the fraud risks of tomorrow,” Vega said on LinkedIn. Agentic AI is contributing to a rise in synthetic identity and other forms of first-party fraud in automotive finance. In fact, auto fraud-related losses were expected to surpass $11 billion in 2026 as of Q1, McKenna previously told AFN . BMO names RV, marine relationship manager Experienced marine manager and real estate agent Adrianna Sessa joined BMO in June as indirect RV and marine relationship manager, according to LinkedIn.
